Conor McGregor once took aim at The Queen after fans criticised him for wearing a poppy.
Back in 2015, the UFC star hit back after some suggested it was hypocritical for him to wear the British remembrance symbol because he walks to the Octagon to republican ballad The Foggy Dew, a song about the 1916 Easter Rising.
But McGregor stated that he doesn't need "a stupid little flower with a 100 different meanings" to tell him if he does or doesn't represent Ireland.

He wrote on his official Facebook page: "I know where my allegiance lies and what I do for my country.
"I don't need a stupid little flower with a 100 different meanings to tell me if I do or do not represent my country.
"Check the facts of its original meaning. ALL soldiers. ALL wars.
"I have the blood of many nations on my gloves. Fought and beat on the world stage.
"You have a pint in your hand and a Celtic jersey on in your local. F*** you and the Queen."
Needless to say, the outburst attracted plenty of comments at the time, over 14,000 actually.
One person wrote: "You fight for wealth and glory not your f***ing country. Was there any need for your status. All you've done is lost respect from people."
Another commented: "I can tell you one thing you've lost a lot of fans with this statement."
Someone else said: "Lost a lot of respect for you with this post! You claim all this s*** but it clear all the money has gone to your head."
Meanwhile, McGregor took to social media over the weekend to explain why he responds to trolls online after hitting out at another one.
He wrote: "Despite contrary belief, I never fire the first shot in verbal warfare or disrespect. I end it with bombs that obliterate the original comments or remarks but I never fire first. Live fighting on the other hand, of course, I charge out the gate like I play in the NFL."
The Notorious is frequently trolled online and posted a rambling message back in 2020, writing: "I will never kill myself no matter how many wish for it.
"Try set me up all yous f***ing want over and over and over the truth will always set me free! Never will I fold! The truth is the truth and it gives me wings! I know my character! God bless DNA! God bless CCTV! God bless Eye witness! God bless the truth! The truth is power! I am free!
"Never will a dime be paid to anyone coming at me with vicious lies! Not now not f***ing ever! I will fight! And I am only beginning my fight! I will not allow these people to just accuse me and then disappear into the dark to attempt to ruin someone else's life! No f***ing way!"
