Congress would reduce below 50 seats in 2024 Lok Sabha election, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday.
Addressing a public meeting in Odisha’s Kandhamal district, Mr. Modi said, “Congress would require more than 10% of Lok Sabha seats to occupy the Opposition space. People have made up their minds that Congress cannot even become main Opposition when results will be declared on June 4. They will come down below 50.”
“The Congress shehzade [a reference to Rahul Gandhi] has resorted to making statements over and over again. Refer to his 2014, 2019, and now 2024 election speeches, he continues to rant same script. Mark my words, people have made up their mind that National Democratic Alliance would win more than 400 seats and BJP will return with record number of Parliamentarians,” the PM who was on a whirlwind tour to State said.

“The Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government had conducted nuclear test in Pokhran. We had shown as to how a government with patriotic priority works for country’s interest, security, and aspiration of people. I remember when nuclear test was carried out, the Indian community settled across globe felt proud and for the first time, people started to look at India with respect,” he remarked.
“It was that day when India made world recognise its capability. On the other hand, the mindset of Congress tries to terrify its own country. Congress cautions that Pakistan has atom bomb. These scared people hurt the country’s spirit. It has always been nature of Congress,” Mr. Modi asserted while slamming the grand old party.
Attacking the Congress, Mr. Modi said, “It was this weakness of Congress for which the people of Kashmir suffered from terrorism for 60 years. The country faced so many terrorist attacks. India should never forget that instead of teaching terrorists a lesson, these people [Congress] were holding meetings with terror organisations.”
The PM said, “After the 26/11 Mumbai attack, they [Congress] could not muster courage to take action against patrons of the terrorists. Congress and INDIA bloc thought if action is taken against terrorist organisations, their vote-bank would get angry.”
