Kharge, Sonia decide to skip Ram Temple event

Describing the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya as “incomplete”, the Congress on Wednesday announced that its leaders would not be attending the consecration ceremony of Lord Ram’s idol on January 22, alleging that the event had been brought forward for electoral gains. 

In a statement, the Congress said that the temple at Ayodhya has been a “political project” of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
