The Washington Commanders promoted Drew Terrell to wide receivers coach ahead of the 2021 season after spending his first season in Washington as an assistant WRs coach.
Last week, the 31-year-old Terrell received his first chance to interview for an offensive coordinator position with the Arizona Cardinals. While Terrell didn’t land the job, he is still expected to land with the Cardinals, according to multiple reports.
I’m told #Commanders wide receivers coach Drew Terrell will be leaving the team, & he is currently expected to take a position with the Arizona #Cardinals, per league sources.

Terrell’s first NFL opportunity came in 2018 with current Washington head coach Ron Rivera and the Carolina Panthers. Terrell spent two years in Carolina as a quality control coach.
While not confirmed, it didn’t sound like Washington was planning on keeping Terrell from a new opportunity. There could be two reasons for this, as his contract may be up, or new offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy plans to hire his own wide receivers coach.
