Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin made franchise history in Sunday’s season-ending 38-10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Entering Sunday’s game, McLaurin needed 54 yards to reach 1,000 yards receiving for the season. If McLaurin reached that number, he would become the first receiver in franchise history to have four consecutive seasons of 1,000 yards receiving or more.
Thanks to a last-ditch offensive effort, McLaurin reached that milestone. After Dallas kicked a field goal with around one minute remaining, the Commanders would have one more offensive possession. McLaurin had five receptions for 41 yards at this point.
On Washington’s first-down play, quarterback Sam Howell finds McLaurin on a wide receiver screen, and the star wideout does the rest, going for 15 yards and giving him 1,002 on the season.

With the Commanders landing the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, McLaurin will almost assuredly be playing with another new quarterback.
