The Philadelphia Eagles will need to begin searching for a new offensive coordinator. The Indianapolis Colts have officially hired Shane Steichen away from the Eagles, making him their next head coach.
Steichen was always viewed as a top candidate for the Colts, so this move doesn’t come as a huge surprise. He’s been the Eagles’ offensive coordinator for the last two seasons, playing a key role in Jalen Hurts’ development.
The Eagles ranked third in points scored and total yards this past season, which helped them get all the way to the Super Bowl. They also finished 12th in points and 14th in yards the year prior in 2021.
Steichen, 37, is the third-youngest head coach in the NFL, older than only Sean McVay and Kevin O’Connell.
