Colts news: What else happened in the AFC South in Week 16?

The Indianapolis Colts defeated the Tennessee Titans in Week 16, but what else happened around the AFC South in Week 16?

With Mac Jones again at quarterback for the Jaguars, Jacksonville would fall to the Las Vegas Raiders 19-14. This was the Raiders’ first win since September 29th.

Jones would complete 25-of-39 passes for 247 yards with one touchdown, however, the run game could only muster 72 yards at 3.4 yards per attempt. Two fumbles and eight penalties also didn’t help the Jaguars sustain drives.

The Raiders were penalized seven times themselves, but played the cleaner game with no turnovers and three red zone trips to the Jaguars one. Las Vegas quarterback Aidan O’Connell led the offense with 257 passing yards on 38 attempts.

Houston, meanwhile, was on the road in Kansas City and also came up short, losing 19-27. Patrick Mahomes would throw for 260 yards on 41 attempts with a touchdown, while the Chiefs also rushed for another 124 yards.

As it often does, turnovers and red zone success were a differentiator in the outcome. Houston turned the ball over twice and the Chiefs didn’t at all. The Texans were also just 1-for-3 in the red zone while Kansas City was 3-for-5.

CJ Stroud was 23-of-39 passing for 244 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Joe Mixon would rush for 57 yards.

Next week, the Colts are on the road to take on the Giants, while Houston is home against Baltimore. Tennessee will be on the road to face the Jaguars.

AFS South Standings

Houston 9-6
Indianapolis 7-8
