Coleen Nolan received a Loose Women 'promotion' on Wednesday, with viewers at home finding out she'd been handed the role of host live on This Morning. And Coleen began the show by sending an emotional message to all those affected by the horrendous events in Nottingham this week.
Coleen, who has been a regular on the ITV lunchtime programme for the last two decades, does get the occasional opportunity to step up to presenter, a position typically occupied by the likes of Ruth Langsford, Christine Lampard, Charlene White and Kaye Adams. And, as Loose Women aired its third live episode of the week, it was the Nolans singer and former Celebrity Big Brother winner at the head of the panel, when This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Dermot O'Leary crossed live to their ITV neighbours to get preview of what was coming up.
Days after viewers claimed to have clocked 'obvious' tension between Ruth and Holly, Coleen seemed delighted to be speaking to Holly and Dermot, greeting them with the line "Hello you two," as she had a broad smile on her face. Coleen then launched into teasers of what she and her colleagues would be talking about, including repots that children as young as two could be given diet coaches to help combat obesity, with her also announcing Blackadder legend Tony Robinson and Coyote Ugly actor and choreographer Adam Garcia as the day's special guests.

Coleen began the 12.30pm programme by telling viewers that she and everyone at Loose Women had been 'absolutely horrified' by the events that happened in Nottingham in the early hours of Tuesday morning, after two 19-year-old university students were stabbed to death and a school caretaker in is 50s also killed, before the 31-year-old assailant then ran over three people at a bus stop elsewhere in the city.
Coleen then read out a statement from the family of Barnaby Webber, one of the young victims, in which they paid tribute to their 'beautiful, brilliant and bright son," adding that he had "everything in life to look forward to."
After the panel shared their shock and sadness at this week's horrific events, Coleen then added: "Obviously all our thoughts are with the families, everyone involved and actually the whole community of Nottingham. We're al thinking about you. Nothing else to say really, heartbroken."
