Chennai: Facing an interview board can be tough. But when you are from the rainbow community, then you can have several other odds stacked against you. That’s why this year the Coimbatore Pride events include a workshop on interview etiquette.
“There are many community members struggling to find jobs. Whether it’s language, presentation, or just basic grooming – many of them do not know how to ace an interview,” says transwoman Nishica Gomes, volunteer with Queerbatore, a LGBTQIA+ support group in Coimbatore, who will conduct the workshop on June 19. “Since I have been working for 24 years, I thought I would help groom people who will have to face interviewers when they enter the job market.”
