COIMBATORE: The west all women police on Sunday arrested a 42-year-old man for raping his two stepdaughters, aged 13 and 10.
The girls’ father, who was unwell, had passed away six months ago. “After his death, their mother started a relationship with his friend, Kuniyamuthur resident Abudhakir, and married him,” a police officer said. “The accused raped the girls several times in the last few months. The girls recently told their mother about it and she lodged a police complaint.”
Abudhakir was booked under sections 5 (l) (m) (n) and 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
