Coffee Prices Surge as Adverse Weather Events Threaten Global Supplies

March arabica coffee (KCH25) Wednesday closed up +14.20 (+4.60%), and January ICE robusta coffee (RMF25) closed up +358 (+6.92%).

Coffee prices Wednesday extended their 3-week parabolic rally, with March arabica posting a contract high and December arabica posting a 47-year nearest-futures high.  Meanwhile, January robusta coffee posted a 1-3/4 month high.  Coffee prices are soaring as adverse weather in Brazil and Vietnam, the world's two biggest coffee growers, threatens global coffee production.
