Coffee Prices Settle Mixed Amid Dollar Strength

Ice Brazil arabica Robusta the USDA FAS USDA Vietnam

July arabica coffee (KCN23) on Tuesday closed down -0.50 (-0.27%), and July ICE robusta coffee (RMN23) closed up +7 (+0.27%).

Coffee prices Tuesday settled mixed, with robusta climbing to a 2-week high.  A stronger dollar Tuesday (DXY00) weighed on coffee prices.  However, losses in arabica coffee were limited as the Brazilian real (^USDBRL) Tuesday rallied to a 3-week high against the dollar.  A stronger real discourages export selling by Brazil's coffee producers.
