A move for Cody Gakpo in the January transfer window is reportedly not being ruled out after a sensational start to the season with PSV Eindhoven.
Erik ten Hag's side targeted Gakpo in the summer however the bid which was sent to PSV was deemed both too little and too late in the window for the Eredivisie side to accept it. The Dutch club claimed that Gakpo had been adversely affected by United attempting to sign him so deep into August.
However, if it had, then the 23-year-old did not allow his form to drop as a result. Gakpo has scored a remarkable 13 goals in just 16 appearances and has also added ten assists to his tally in the process.

According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Gakpo is preferring a move to a 'big club' and has thus ruled out a transfer to Leeds United. In a tweet, Plettenberg said: "Been told that there is no agreement with Leeds United at this stage.
"Leeds United is highly interested but the player would like to make a step to a bigger club like Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Barcelona or FC Bayern Munich. A transfer in winter is not excluded."
Elsewhere, the Reds are reportedly interested in making a move for Lyon full-back Malo Gusto. The teenager has made nine appearances in Ligue 1 so far this season and his performances are believed to be catching United's eye.
Graeme Baily of 90min claimed: "Malo Gusto is emerging as one of the most in-demand teenagers in European football. Barcelona and Manchester United have been looking at Gusto for much of 2022 and it is understood that both made enquiries in the summer."
