That’s all for tonight. Thanks as always for following along with us and be sure to read Tumaini Carayol’s full report off tonight’s twinbill.

“She played incredible tennis,” Sabalenka says of Keys in her on-court interview. “It was just another level. Somehow – I don’t know how actually – I turned around this match and I won it. It really means a lot being in the final of the US Open for the first time. It really means a lot to me.”

She’s asked about Saturday’s final against Coco Gauff and offers high praise to the American star.

“She’s an unbelievable player,” Sabalenka says. “She’s playing really incredible tennis here at the US Open. The crowd will be supporting her a lot. That’s something I expect. This is nothing crazy. I’ll just go there and just do everything I can. I’ll be there and I’ll be fighting for every point. I’ll do my best.”
