Coast Guard Reopens Ports After Hurricane Milton Assessment

The Coast Guard has announced the reopening of several ports across Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina following the aftermath of Hurricane Milton. Authorities have conducted thorough safety assessments at each location to ensure the resumption of maritime activities.

The reopened ports in Florida include Key West, Port Everglades, Port Miami, and the Miami River. In Georgia, the ports of Brunswick and Savannah have been reopened. In South Carolina, Charleston and Georgetown ports are now operational.

These include St. Petersburg, Fort Myers, Port of Palm Beach, Fort Pierce, Port Canaveral, Jacksonville, and Fernandina. The Coast Guard emphasized that federal, state, and local emergency responders are actively assessing the damage in these areas to determine when they can be safely reopened.
