HYDERABAD: Stating that the coalition government would come into power at the Centre in 2024 and BRS would play a key role in the national politics, Telangana textile minister KT Rama Rao said. The minister said the next government would reintroduce all the welfare schemes for weavers, which were discontinued by the Centre. He hoped that the new government at the Centre would roll back the five per cent GST on weavers.
Speaking at a meeting as part of the national handloom day at Manneguda on Monday, the minister said CM KCR had rolled out several news schemes and revised some existing schemes for the welfare of the weavers. Earlier KTR laid foundation stones for Handlooms Convention Centre and Handloom & Handicraft Museum at Uppal Bhagat.
