Coach John Harbaugh provides injury update for rehabilitating Ravens: ‘They’re doing really well’

Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Thursday that the six players on the physically-unable-to-perform list are progressing in their rehabilitations, but he indicated that he didn’t expect any to be cleared to practice soon.

“They’re doing really well,” Harbaugh said. “There’s really no update with time.”

Harbaugh said the Ravens are “not in a hurry” with left tackle Ronnie Stanley (ankle) and cornerback Marcus Peters (knee), “but they’re doing really well.” Stanley missed all but one game last season, while Peters sat out the entire year after suffering a torn ACL just before the season opener.

Running back J.K. Dobbins’ timetable from a torn ACL is “a little more of a hurry,” Harbaugh said, “because he’s making it a hurry.” Dobbins appeared eager to get onto the field during the first practice of training camp last week, at one point talking with team officials on the sideline in uniform.

“He wants to get back out there,” Harbaugh said of Dobbins, who went down in the team’s preseason finale last August. “So we’ll look at it again Monday and see where we’re at Monday. Maybe he starts doing something like individual [drills]; maybe not. It will be up to the doctors.”

Running back Gus Edwards (knee) is “a little further out,” Harbaugh said. His rehab from a torn ACL, suffered in the same September practice as Peters, has made his availability for Week 1 unclear.

Outside linebacker Tyus Bowser, meanwhile, is “so conscientious” about his recovery from a torn Achilles tendon that “he wants to be perfect, and that’s what you appreciate,” Harbaugh said. “We don’t have to have him back right now, so let’s just keep letting him get stronger for now.”

Harbaugh didn’t mention and wasn’t asked about defensive back Ar’Darius Washington, who’s recovering from a foot injury.
