A Co Tyrone lifestyle blogger has racked up more than 13,000 followers on Instagram as she shares sneak peeks into her home and life.
Aisling O’Donnell first set up her account three years ago (@thehomebirdni) focusing on property sales as she was working as an estate agent.
As her following grew however she started to share more content about her personal life - fashion, travelling and more.
The Ardboe native then bought her dream house and documented the renovation process on the blog. Now she has quit her estate agent job and helps first time buyers with their home purchases, as well as promoting businesses via her account.
“I set up the page in February 2019, nearly four years ago now. I was working as an estate agent at the time and the idea was to be a property blogger,” Aisling told Belfast Live.
“When I first set it up it was all to do with property and me doing home tours of the properties I was selling.
“People started to take more of an interest in me as well as the houses, so I started posting a bit more about myself.
“It kind of just branched out from that and I ended up deleting my own personal Instagram account and just using this one.”
Aisling took the plunge earlier this year to leave her full-time job, and is now expecting her first child with hubby Brian.
“I quit in June to pursue this on a full-time basis and set up my own home buying consultancy business as well,” she added.
“I worked in real estate for ten years nearly , so I’m just taking what I know and doing something new with it.
“I’m still keeping my property background even though I’m not an active estate agent any more.
“My page showcases us buying our new house last June and renovating it, our wedding journey and now I’m 30 weeks pregnant as well.
“So people are kind of just following my wee life journey along with me.”
The 31-year-old said she thinks her followers like the variety of content she posts about, as well as getting some inspiration for their own homes.
“I think what people enjoy the most about my content is the variety of things that I post about, and the fact that it isn’t just a home blogger page any more.
“At the start people who followed me were just interested in buying houses, but then people were interested in following our house renovation.
“We looked for three years to find the perfect house, I was a wee bit fussy because I was an estate agent and I knew exactly what I wanted.
“Thankfully we have most of the renovations done now, but there’s always something to do.”
