A recent set of UMass Lowell/YouGov polls conducted in mid-October has shed light on the closely contested presidential races in key states such as North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and New Hampshire. The polls reveal a tight competition with no clear frontrunner between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.
In North Carolina, the survey indicates a close race, with Trump holding a slight lead over Harris, garnering 47% of likely voters compared to Harris' 45%. However, another poll in the same state shows Harris with a narrow advantage, as 48% of likely voters support her, while 47% back Trump.
The Pennsylvania poll results mirror the deadlock seen in North Carolina, with Harris and Trump tied at 48% and 47%, respectively. In Michigan, Harris maintains a lead over Trump, securing 49% of likely voters compared to Trump's 45%, falling within the survey's margin of error.
On the other hand, in New Hampshire, Harris emerges as the favored candidate, holding a modest lead over Trump with 50% support from likely voters, as opposed to Trump's 43%.
Despite these individual state findings, an average of polls in North Carolina continues to show a neck-and-neck race, with both candidates receiving similar support from likely voters, with 48% backing Trump and 47% supporting Harris.
