Clever dog saves little boy from falling in pond - then comes to the rescue again

This is the adorable moment a smart dog saves the day twice, after he stops a little boy from falling into a pond and fishes out his lost toy with a net.

The clever pup senses danger and takes full control of the moment, forcing the child backwards then shows off his surprisingly talent for fishing.

At the beginning of the video, the Alsatian is sitting peacefully in the garden in Shenzhen, China, watching the two young children throw the toy between themselves.

The older girl accidentally launches the toy too far and it lands in the fish pond, where it disappears into the water.

While she runs off to get the attention of her mother, the boy rushes over to the pool and attempts to fish it out himself.

The dog is quick to react and notices that the boy is about to fall in head first, so he grabs his top with his teeth and pulls him back to safety.

The shocked child resists but eventually gives in to watch the dog's next move.

The Alsatian picks up the family's fishing net and stands on the side of the pool, using his mouth to direct the net underneath the orange ball.

After just a few seconds, he successfully scoops it out and onto the floor, then picks it up and takes it to the young boy.

Feeling amazed, the little boy pats his dog on the head and looks chuffed to have his toy back.

This dog isn't the only canine putting his skills to the test this week - a border terrier named Bramble has learned how to play Connect 4 and other classic games from the 1970s.

Dog trainer and behaviourist Jodie Forbes, 25, taught her beloved pet dozens of tricks, including how to pick up tokens with his paws and slot them into the grid.

Jodie told Dorset Live: "Bramble has learned hundreds of tricks and her and Willow’s latest is to play Connect Four. I started by using socks and a plastic tub and I’d get them use their nose-eye co-ordination to drop the sock in a tub."
