Cleaning expert warns against using fabric softener in every wash - citing 'damage' risk

Fabric softener is often touted as a cure-all, but there's some places you likely won't want to use it, as a cleaning expert has advised.

Taking to TikTok, popular creator Ann Russell, who goes by @annrussell03 on the app, shared a video explaining her concerns about the product.

Responding to another user's video warning that fabric softener can make your clothes 'more flammable', she replied: "That is why I do not recommend using fabric softener for applications which it wasn't intended for like spraying your upholstery to make it smell good, which people do."
