During the cost of living crisis, people are turning their backs away from their tumble dryers in favour for other methods of drying - but sometimes this can leave clothes damp still if you don't leave them for long enough, or don't check properly.
Not only can this cause an unpleasant odour, but if left with other damp clothes in a drawer or a pile for long enough, it can also cause mould to build on your favourite garments - leaving you in despair, wondering what to do for the best.
But fear not - you don't have to throw away your favourite items, even if they are riddled with mould, as an expert has shared the easiest way to clean your clothes effectively.
If your clothes are showing signs of mould, don't throw them in the bin in a panic - instead, a cleaning expert has suggested that a simple product, that you can pick up for just £1.50 in Wilko, could be just the trick.
Emily Barron, cleaning expert at Rezigo, said: "Many people are currently counteracting soaring energy prices by leaving their clothes to dry naturally, however, this can lead to mould developing on clothing.
"If you find mould on your clothes, white distilled vinegar is your new best friend. To effectively remove mould, soak the item in a bucket containing water and one cup of vinegar for a couple of hours and then rinse by hand or in the washing machine.
"Alternatively, apply the vinegar directly onto the stain and leave for an hour or so before rinsing thoroughly and drying."
If the stains aren't new, however, don't fret. If there are stubborn stains, there's something else you can do.
Emily continued: "It’s best to tackle mould quickly, however, for old, stubborn stains, you may want to gently scrub the item with a toothbrush to remove the stain."
