Clarkson's Farm star Kaleb Cooper has vowed to never leave the countryside despite having one million Instagram followers.
The 23-year-old from Chipping Norton has branded London as “f****** awful” after finding fame alongside Jeremy Clarkson on his hit Amazon Prime show.
Kaleb has become the unlikely star of the former Top Gear frontman’s new series, thanks to his honest and open character and bond with Clarkson.
The Oxfordshire native is often seen giving Jeremy a dressing down and has said he will never leave his beloved rural life, despite the success the show has brought him.
Speaking to The Times magazine this weekend, the farmer, who did four years as an apprentice on a cow farm before moving to Clarkson's Diddly Squat Farm to drive tractors, told how the furthest he’d been from his hometown was London.
He explained how he’d been three times and hated it, describing it as “f****** awful”.
And Kaleb said fans can forget about him going any further afield as he doesn’t even own a passport and recalled getting a “nosebleed” when he went to Stow-on-the-Wold recently – 18 miles from Chipping Norton.
Fans have fallen in love with Cooper, who welcomed his baby son Oscar to the world last year with his partner Taya, and his confidence in giving brash Clackson a run for his money.
The amateur farming pair have cemented themselves as a favourite TV double act as the show follows them learning to manage Clarkson’s 1,000 acre Diddly Squat farm in Oxfordshire.
The 23-year-old’s often confrontational relationship with his co-star is loved by fans as they have borne witness to Clarkson calling him a "rural halfwit", while Kaleb branded his boss a "f***ing idiot" for spending £40,000 on a Lamborghini tractor.
Foul-mouthed Kaleb told the publication how he is really the one in charge of things on 'Clarkson's Farm', claiming: "I’m the boss. It’s Kaleb’s Farm, secretly."
Kaleb went on: “He’s useless. I’ve tried my best. I’m still trying.”
But he did admit that Jeremy had got better at using the Lamborghini tractor, conceding that “it is a really hard job, but you just have a knack for it. You’re either a farmer or you’re not a farmer.”
Their on-screen tiffs aren’t just for show. Speaking about his co-star, Kaleb said: “He never listens to me. I tell him to do one thing and he does the complete opposite. I get very annoyed when he messes up. That is genuine.”
He says he was never intimidated by the Clarkson because “I knew what I was doing and he didn't”.
But beneath the frequent clashes is a genuine friendship and partnership as Kaleb gushed: “We just laugh all the time, our banter and sense of humour are very much the same. He's a great chap.”
The former Top Gear host shunned showbiz to try his hand at farming, after he bought land in Oxfordshire in 2009, and took the farm over himself three years ago when the farm keeper died.
Jeremy has hit the headlines in recent years due to his controversial opinions, but he’s seemingly turned over a new leaf as he embraces his new life as a farmer.
The show has won praise for the series, which sheds light on the plight faced by farmers during the Covid-19 pandemic.
