Cincinnati Bengals will officially unveil ‘White Bengal’ alternate uniforms for Thursday Night Football

It’s happening. The Cincinnati Bengals are going full white tiger for their Week 4 Thursday Night Football matchup with the Miami Dolphins.

While Cincinnati has worn white uniforms with black tiger stripes in the past, eschewing the signature orange that’s been attached to the franchise since its inception, 2022 will mark the debut of the team’s black-and-white alternate helmets. Since that substitute lid — which clocked in at third place in our very official rankings — can only be worn with alternate or Color Rush jerseys, it made sense to pair it with the white kits that have popped up on Thursday nights in years past.

The end result is the primetime debut of the “White Bengal” look the team’s social media accounts have been hyping since the summer.

The plan had always been to debut the full uniform in Week 4’s prime time game, but the start of the 2022 season has added a little extra intrigue. Thursday’s showdown with the Dolphins provides a get-right game for the defending AFC champions after they stumbled out of the gate to an 0-2 start. Joe Burrow and company righted that ship by trouncing the New York Jets in Week 3, 27-12.

Miami had its own big win last weekend. The Dolphins overcame three different deficits to knock the Buffalo Bills from the ranks of the unbeaten and stake their claim as the top team in the AFC East. Will they suffer a hangover following that emotional win? Will they be upended by the sartorial greatness of Cincinnati’s White Bengal kits? We’ll find out Thursday night.
