Christmas at Gibside competition has free family ticket up for grabs

Families are in with a chance to enjoy a free visit to the opening night of this year's festive treat at Gibside.

The National Trust property will be launching its illuminated trail Christmas at Gibside on Friday, December 1 and our competition is offering a family ticket as a prize to that first night. The after-dark attraction, which is promising a magical evening out with new additions this year including a Snowflake Park, will then run on selected dates up to January 1.

The trail, in the Georgian gardens of the venue in Rowlands Gill, near Gateshead, is out to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with a stunning display of twinkling lights and seasonal sounds filling the air, helping to transport visitors into a winter wonderland where they can discover sparkling tunnels of light and walk beneath giant baubles and trees drenched in jewel-like colours.

Also amongst the curated light installations will be a Pealit Tree wrapped in a thousand lights and a Green Laser Garden and, while visitors are encouraged to wrap up warm, there will be spiced winter warmer drinks and hot chocolate available to buy plus food on sale at independent street food vendors to help keep the chill at bay.
