Christine Lampard says Frank is the 'fun' parent as she gives rare insight into home life

Christine Lampard has given fans a rare insight into her life as a parent as she opened up on Loose Women on Monday.

The 43-year-old shares daughter Patricia, four, and one-year-old Freddie with her Everton football manager husband Frank.

She is also step mum to Frank's daughters Luna, 17, and 15-year-old Isla, from a previous relationship.

Christine and Frank tend to keep their family life away from the spotlight however, the Loose Women panelist gave fans a rare insight into her home life as she appeared on the ITV chat show today.

The mum-of-two confessed her children see her as the "authoritative" parent while Frank is "fun".

Speaking on today's Loose Women Christine explained: "I certainly know that I... because I'm with the children more because Frank's up north more and we're back and fourth.

"But, when they see him there's much more excitement and it's like a God-like figure has walked into the house and: 'Daddy!' but he hasn't done the nappies all day and tell them: 'Don't do that, don't do this' – although they always come back to Mummy, don't get me wrong.

"But I am definitely the one that has to say: 'Say thank you, say please'..."

Coleen Nolan then joked: "And that's to Frank," which caused Christine and the audience to erupt into laughter as Coleen added: "The kids are great it's Frank. Frank's manners are shocking."

"The children's are no bother," Christine joked as she giggled and continued: "But I understand and I think maybe you can flit between who is the authoritative one that day, you can switch roles sometimes but it generally is one parent that takes on the 'please and thankyous, don't do that' much more than the other.

"It's hard to get the balance sometimes because you want to be the fun one but, particularly when you are on your own you have to tick all the boxes."

Christine and Frank met at the Pride of Britain Awards 13 years ago in 2009. The pair then went on to tie the knot in December 2015.

At the Pride of Britain Awards this year, as he attended the event with his wife Christine, Frank joked the ceremony was like an "anniversary night out" for the pair.

Speaking to the Mirror on the red carpet of the ceremony this year, Frank said: "It is always a great evening for us for that reason, but this is always a very special day.

"Obviously that does give it something extra but it is just so important to be a part of that recognition for the winners."

He added: "It is like our anniversary night out."

Earlier this year, Christine revealed she doesn't plan on having more children as she admitted she was "knackered".

Speaking to OK! magazine, Christine explained: "I think if I was younger I would have thought about it, but I feel very blessed with the two of them – and I’m knackered!

"I rarely find time for myself. If I have them both asleep by 9pm I watch TV for an hour and go to bed. I stepped away because I decided to have children – I say decided, but I was slightly blessed with it much later."
