Chelsea star Christian Pulisic is excited for a 'fresh start' under new manager Graham Potter after struggling under previous managers at Stamford Bridge.
Pulisic joined the Blues back in 2019 after sealing a £57million transfer from German outfit Borussia Dortmund but has struggled to retain a starting spot in the team. The American winger has played just 177 minutes so far this season and is yet to register a goal or an assist.
The arrivals of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Raheem Sterling in the summer transfer window pushed Pulisic further down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, but the 24-year-old is keen to make an impression now Potter is in charge. football.london understands Pulisic wanted to leave the Blues in the summer but the club were reluctant to sanction an exit after selling Timo Werner and allowing Romelu Lukaku to return to Inter Milan on-loan.

Pulisic has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this year with Juventus and Premier League rivals Newcastle and Manchester United said to be keen on signing the 24-year-old. After wanting to secure a transfer exit in the summer, the American winger is now focused on forcing his way into Potter's plans ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
Speaking to ESPN after the 0-0 draw against Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, the USMNT international said: "I'm feeling good going back, honestly. I have a fresh start now, and I'm excited to play for the new manager.
"So really just looking forward to it. I just have to prove myself, as everyone does, and as I've done before."
There were fears that Pulisic could be forced out of a number of upcoming games through injury after picking up a knock whilst on international duty. The 24-year-old missed the USMNT's first game of the international break against Japan after suffering an injury in training, but he returned for the game against Saudi Arabia.
After coming on as a late substitute in Potter's first game in charge against RB Salzburg earlier this month, Pulisic will be hoping to impress the new head coach in training this week ahead of a London derby against Crystal Palace. The 24-year-old hinted in a text message sent to new signing Gabriel Slonina that he may not be at the club next year, but he is now targeting a starting spot under Potter as he looks to reignite his Chelsea career in what could be a make-or-break season for the American with just two years left on his current deal.
