However, Ponder argues that being a game manager is not a derogatory label for a quarterback. In fact, Ponder believes it is precisely what a quarterback should strive to be – someone who limits turnovers, gets the ball to the playmakers, and executes their job effectively. This is exactly what Purdy has been doing and has done so remarkably well.
