Christian Eriksen discusses Antony's impact at Manchester United after 'perfect debut'

Christian Eriksen has praised Antony after his "perfect debut" for Manchester United as he looks forward to seeing what the Brazilian is capable of at Old Trafford.

Scoring against Arsenal after just 35 minutes in front of your home fans is the sort of debut that player's dream about. Antony's dreams came true as he calmly slotted the ball past Aaron Ramsdale to send the crowd into raptures.

His celebration showed just how pleased he was to have made the move from the Dutch capital this summer as he clawed at and kissed the United badge during his passionate celebrations.

The build-up to Antony's goal would have delighted Erik ten Hag. Eriksen's sumptuous ball to find Bruno Fernandes opened Arsenal's defence, as the Portuguese international then found Marcus Rashford who in turn provided the assist to Antony who applied the finishing touch.

Antony may have stolen the headlines, but the Dane had a superb game against the Gunners. The 30-year-old midfielder has now given his thoughts on the Brazilian's debut, as he told United's in-house media what he has made of his new teammate so far.

Eriksen said: "I think it is the perfect debut, if you can have a debut, I think everyone would like it to be like that, playing against Arsenal at Old Trafford, to score after 30 minutes or something even before so, I think that's the perfect debut.

"I've only trained him once and played one game, so I haven’t seen much of him, but of course I've seen how he how he plays before. But yes, I think I can feel the confidence he is playing with, the qualities he has. So of course he will get to know his teammates and we will get to know him a lot more in the next few weeks and he will be a good player to have."
