Christian Angermayer
Christian Angermayer is a big fan of magic mushrooms. So much so he has invested millions into them. That is because the German-born, London-based entrepreneur is betting on the power of pyschedelics to treat a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety and addiction.
Angermayer started a biotech company, atai Life Sciences, to develop the therapeutic drugs, and floated the company with the help of billionaire Peter Theil on the Nasdaq stock exchange in 2021 at a $3.2 billion valuation.
To complement his research, he also owns a sizeable collection of artwork “inspired by and based on psychedelic experiences.”
He is a big fan of cryptocurrencies too, and launched a firm called Cryptology Asset Group to invest in the world’s hottest blockchain businesses.
