Chris Sutton trolls Barry Ferguson over Celtic vs Rangers anguish

Chris Sutton couldn't resist poking fun at former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson after the loss to Celtic on Sunday.

Brendan Rodgers' side moved five points clear of their Glasgow rivals after the comfortable 3-0 victory.

Ferguson was at Celtic Park in the director's box to witness the derby disaster for his former club.

And he has admitted his trip to watch the match was hellish as Celtic supporters joined in a huddle celebration and were"laughing in his face".

In his Daily Record column, Ferguson had wrote: "I'm not going to lie. This one hurts.

"Maybe it was because I was there to watch it with my own eyes, sitting in the directors’ box at Parkhead.

"Perhaps it was the joy on the faces of the Celtic fans when they were doing their wee huddle dance and laughing in my face when their team was 3-0 up.

"It was interesting, let’s just leave it at that.

"But mainly, the hurt and disappointment I’ve been left nursing was caused by a Rangers performance which was simply not good enough on derby day in Glasgow’s east end.

"To be honest, I’ve still got an empty feeling inside more than 24 hours later and that’s not like me."

Sutton - never one to shy away from a tongue-in-cheek remark - trolled Ferguson on X as he wrote: "Can Celtic fans please stop doing the huddle when Barry is at Parkhead please..."

It comes after Sutton had jokingly offered to console furious Kris Boyd after his post-match meltdown over the result and performance.

After Boyd's rant on the state of Rangers on and off the pitch, Sutton said: "I'm going to give you a hug in the car park. We'll maybe do a huddle..."

Furious Boyd responded: "I'm not coming near you, I've had enough of you."
