Chris Noth has quietly, and then very publicly, re‑entered the Sarah Jessica Parker conversation — this time via a single word in an Instagram comment that landed just days after she was honoured at the Golden Globes.
Earlier this month Parker was recognised with the Golden Globes’ Carol Burnett Award during the Golden Eve primetime special, which celebrated her long‑running impact on television a few days before the mass award ceremony. The honour nods to a body of work that, for many people, is inseparable from Sex and the City and her turn as Carrie Bradshaw — a character Noth’s Mr Big supposedly helped define over six seasons, two films and, briefly, the And Just Like That… revival.

Days later, Noth shared a gym selfie on Instagram with the caption: “F&@k new years – LETS GO!!!!”. At first glance, it read like a standard new‑year‑new‑routine post, but it didn’t take long for the comments to turn the focus back to his old co‑star. One follower wrote, “You mean fcuk sjp and her award right? lol,” referring directly to Parker’s Golden Globe — and Noth replied simply, “right”.

That one word was enough to send his comments section, and then social media, into overdrive. Fans piled in with reactions ranging from confused to gleefully shocked; one person wrote, “WHAT DID I MISS SOMETHING 😭😭😭😭”, while another posted, “LMFAOOOO WOAH?????😭”, as the screenshot bounced around socials. Others stepped in to defend Parker, with one user suggesting, “He’s just bitter that they [wrote] him off the show”.

Noth’s relationship to Sex and the City has been fraught since late 2021, when multiple women accused him of sexual assault in detailed accounts published by The Hollywood Reporter and The Daily Beast. Two women alleged he raped them in incidents they said occurred in 2004 and 2015, while a third accused him of assaulting her in 2010; a fourth woman, singer Lisa Gentile, later came forward with her own story about an alleged encounter in 2002. Noth has denied all of the allegations, calling the initial reports “categorically false” and saying in a statement that “no always means no — that is a line I did not cross”, while insisting the encounters described were consensual.
The fallout was swift. After appearing in just one episode of And Just Like That… — in which Mr Big dies from a heart attack in the premiere — Noth’s planned cameo in the season one finale, reportedly filmed in Paris with Parker’s Carrie, was removed in the edit once the allegations became public. Trade outlet TVLine reported at the time that the Paris footage would “not make it to air”, effectively ending his on‑screen connection to the revival before viewers ever saw the scenes. Around the same period, he was also dropped from his role on The Equalizer and lost a tentative deal to sell his Ambhar tequila brand, as companies distanced themselves from the controversy.
Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis addressed the situation in a joint statement, saying they were “deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth”. “We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it,” they said, aligning themselves with the accusers.
Parker has otherwise kept her public comments sparse, focusing instead on continuing And Just Like That… and, more recently, stepping into a new chapter as an industry veteran being honoured in her own right.
Noth has continued to reject the accusations while acknowledging his infidelity within his marriage to actor Tara Wilson, whom he wed in 2012. In a 2023 interview with USA Today, he said, “I strayed on my wife, and it’s devastating to her and not a very pretty picture. What it isn’t is a crime.”
