Chris Eubank Jr calls out Jake Paul after YouTuber waded into Conor Benn row

Chris Eubank Jr has called for a boxing fight against Jake Paul with the winner facing Canelo Alvarez.

Paul has made a name for himself in the boxing world having launched his career in the sport by winning his first five professional fights. He has called out some of the sport's biggest names including Alvarez, Gervonta Davis and Floyd Mayweather during his time in the limelight.

Most recently Paul criticised British middleweight Eubank Jr while defending the inserting of a rehydration clause in his upcoming August 6 meeting with Hasim Rahman Jr. He tweeted: "Conor Benn [is] dirty because he doesn’t want Chris Eubank to have a massive size advantage fight night? No. He just wants a fair/safe fight. Rahman can weigh-in at any weight fight night. 200 weigh-in, 214 at noon fight-day, any weight fight night. Stop making excuses Jr."

Now Eubank Jr has responded with an interesting proposal on Twitter, writing: "Yo Jake Paul. Once I deal with Benn and you take care of Rahman how about me and you go for a couple of rounds. I’ll come in at 160lb, you come in at whatever weight you want. Winner gets CANELO. And don’t worry I am not Tommy Fury, if I say I will do something, it gets done."

Eubank Jr's current planned mega showdown with Benn is in the final stages of negotiations but an announcement is being delayed as the pair discuss their own rehydration clause. The pair have reportedly agreed to a catchweight of 156lb but are having differing opinions over addition of the obligatory clause.

Benn has yet to fight over 147lb where he usually plies his trade and is eyeing a future world title shot. Meanwhile Eubank Jr fights at 160lb regularly but has also campaigned at 168lb. Paul has also had a weight dilemma with Rahman Jr where has inserted a rehydration clause for his 200lb meeting.

It means neither fighter can be heavier than 215lb on the morning of the fight and after the weigh-in at Madison Square Garden. Paul has defended the addition of the clause by claiming that the New York State Athletic Commission put the rule in place to sanction the fight.

"We are fighting at 200lb and he has to weigh in at that on Friday. On Saturday morning he can weigh up to 215lb and on the night of the fight he can weigh in as much as he wants," Paul confirmed to Morning Kombat. The New York State Athletic Commission put this in place because they were worried about him having a crazy size advantage. T

"They almost didn't want to sanction the fight because they were concerned with his experience over mine." Rahman Jr will likely pose the toughest examination of Paul's short boxing career having fought 13 times as a professional with just one defeat.
