Chris Dare is hoping to carry some words of wisdom from AFL icon Frank Costa all the way to Sydney to Hobart glory this year after his best preparation in 11 races.

As his day job, Dare is managing director of Waypoint Group, a sports consultancy firm that helps professional clubs build centres of excellence from scratch.
