With Roquan Smith granted the night off, backup middle linebacker Chris Board received a starting assignment for the preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Board teamed up with first-round draft pick Nate Wiggins to make the first tackle of the game for the Ravens.
That assisted tackle would ultimately be the only place that Board showed up in the stat sheet.
Board suffered a head injury midway through the first half and soon found himself in the medical tent.
He was subsequently ruled out of the game with concussion-like symptoms. The team tweeted out the following statement below:
LB Chris Board is being evaluated for a concussion.

If it is definitely found to be a concussion, then Board will naturally enter into the league’s protocol.
As the second-string MLB (sometimes referred to as “The Mike” in a three-linebacker defensive formation), the 29-year-old is a key player in the Ravens’ two-deep.
In his six-year NFL career, Board has played in every regular-season game except one in 2019.
