Chris Aitken gearing up for crucial week in Kilwinning's survival bid

Chris Aitken is calling on his side to “want it more” as they gear up for a crucial week.

Kilwinning Rangers head to Hurlford United tonight before a trip to fellow relegation strugglers Arthurlie on Saturday.

And Aitken reckons if they show the level of performance that they did against Auchinleck Talbot at the weekend, then they will have “every chance” to get the points they require to stay in the West of Scotland League Premier Division.

The boss told KRTV: “It’s back to business on Wednesday, the guys have got nine cup finals to focus on.

“We need to take these kind of performances into the league games. I don’t set the standards, it’s the guys on the park that do that.

“What I am here to do is make sure they maintain these standards. If they keep playing like they did against Auchinleck then hopefully we can get the results needed to stay in this league.

“All the games are going to be who wants it more, who wants to win, who wants to run through the barrier.

“If they show the level of performance they did on Saturday then we will have every chance.”
