Cho Gue-sung is a name known to many in Scottish football particularly those of the Celtic and Rangers persuasion.
The Korean attacker was the subject of a long and winding transfer saga that saw the Hoops interested in the World Cup star who made headlines for goals in the Qatar tournament. Cho was reportedly high on the agenda for Ange Postecoglou despite the Hoops boss claiming the eventual recruitment of fellow countryman Hyeon-gyu Oh was his priority all along.
Gue-sung, according to some reports, also took the interest of rivals Rangers but a transfer battle never materialised between the Glasgow heavyweights. Some Parkhead fans were looking for the 25-year-old to be a potential replacement for outgoing Giorgos Giakoumakis who sealed a move to the MLS with Atlanta United last month.
