Children Honoured For Bravery: 5-year-old leads sister to safety; officials hail response

A five-year-old boy in Michigan has been recognised for his quick thinking after his grandmother collapsed during a medical emergency, prompting him to seek help while ensuring his three-year-old sister remained safe. The incident, reported by People and local news outlet WDIV-TV, took place in Cottrellville Township, where the young boy’s actions helped bring emergency assistance to his grandmother, Terri Ketelhut. The children were visiting their grandmother when she suddenly became unwell and fell to the floor. Hudson Tenn, who was five at the time, realised that she was not getting back up. With his younger sister, Harper, beside him, he tried to work out how to get help. Unable to find his grandmother’s car keys, Hudson decided to leave the house and look for someone who could assist. He took Harper with him and headed down a rural road, where the children were spotted by passing neighbours.
