The Chiefs lost in devastating fashion against the Eagles, having failed to make the most of their opportunities late in the Week 11 Monday night showdown.
When fans look back on the game, no play will stand out more painfully than the drop from Marquez Valdes-Scantling, which effectively sealed Kansas City’s fate.
On the Chiefs’ final drive of the game, Valdes-Scantling had cornerback Bradley Roby beat on a deep route down the middle of the field. Despite Patrick Mahomes putting his throw right on the money, Valdes-Scantling was unable to haul in the catch, as the ball bounced right off his hands.
It would’ve been a 51-yard touchdown reception to give Kansas City a lead with just under two minutes left in the game. Instead, the Chiefs were unable to convert on their next two plays, capping off a disappointing 21–17 defeat.

The wide receiver was fuming after his costly mistake and could be seen smashing his helmet against a Chiefs logo in the tunnel.

Per the ESPN broadcast, Monday’s game marked the sixth time this season in which Valdes-Scantling has dropped a pass of 30 or more yards. Additionally, Kansas City’s wide receiving corps leads the NFL with 26 drops.
Fans couldn’t believe Valdes-Scantling failed to haul in what looked like an easy touchdown catch, and they were vocal on social media.
