The Sunday night showdown for the Kansas City Chiefs against the Green Bay Packers will feature numerous storylines. The Packers are a desperate team seeking to string together more victories to improve their post-season hopes, while the Chiefs look to continue the string play on offense from last week.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has accumulated many accolades throughout his career and will check off the list with his first opportunity to play at Lambeau Field. During Wednesday’s press conference with reporters, Mahomes spoke about being eager to play at the legendary stadium.
“I’ve never got to play a game in general because the games that I’ve been there (was) the fourth preseason game,” Mahomes explained. “So, I wasn’t playing in the game, and so I’m extremely excited for it. I mean, I’ve watched it my whole life.
“I know it’s gonna be a hostile environment, and the fans are gonna be loud. It’s gonna be a lot like Arrowhead is to other teams but I’m excited if you love football, you love Lambeau Field. And I’m excited to get the opportunity to play there.”
Mahomes has faced off against the Jordan Love version of the Packers at Arrowhead Stadium in 2021. Love has improved considerably since Aaron Rodgers left for the New York Jets, establishing himself as a credible starter in the NFL.
