The Kansas City Chiefs are hosting an intriguing quarterback prospect on a top-30 visit on Tuesday.
According to Pro Football Network’s Aaron Wilson, the Chiefs are hosting South Dakota State QB Chris Oladokun on a top-30 visit this week. The Jackrabbits’ dual-threat passer has already drawn interest from a number of teams, taking pre-draft visits with the Chicago Bears and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Oladokun has taken a road well-traveled to get to South Dakota State, having previously played for both USF and Samford. Most of his playing experience came in 2019 with the latter, playing 12 games for the Bulldogs. That season he threw 169 completions for 2,064 yards and 18 touchdowns and also carried the ball 127 times for 493 yards and eight scores. During the 2021 season at South Dakota State, Oladokun was equally dynamic, leading the Jackrabbits to an 11-4 record and passing for 3,164 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions in the process. He also had 73 attempts for 166 yards and two rushing touchdowns and caught two touchdown passes on trick plays.

Listed at 6-2 and 195 pounds, Oladokun has steadily been rising up draft boards since his appearance at the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, where he had a very strong week of practice. He’s still very raw and developing as a passer, but his success at both Samford and South Dakota State has teams intrigued.
Kansas City isn’t exactly in a position where they need to draft a quarterback. They already have players with clear and defined roles at the position, but they could use some competition for third-string quarterback Shane Buechele. It’s possible that they could view Oladokun as a target on Day 3 or as a priority free agent.
