Chiefs CB L’Jarius Sneed is being evaluated for a concussion

The Kansas City Chiefs lost one of their best defenders to injury in Week 12 against the Los Angeles Rams.

With about seven minutes left in the second quarter, Chiefs CB L’Jarius Sneed put his shoulder down and combined with LB Darius Harris to tackle Rams RB Kyren Williams on what would be a five-yard game. Sneed took every ounce of force from the 5-9 and 195-pound halfback on the tackle. After the play, he was shaken up, staying down on the turf until the medical staff attended to him.

Sneed would go to the sideline and spend some time in the blue medical tent before he was escorted to the locker room. The team would eventually reveal that Sneed is being evaluated for a concussion.

Sneed has been the team’s No. 1 cornerback this season, but he’s also been used as a weapon in the blitz game. As great as it would be to get him cleared and back out there against the Rams, it seems rather unlikely.

Hopefully, he’s cleared of the concussion and will be able to return in Week 13 against the Cincinnati Bengals. They’re going to have their hands full with a receiver group featuring Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd.
