One of Wales’ leading business clubs is back with a new season after a two year hiatus due to the pandemic.
Cardiff Breakfast Club will launch its new 2022-23 season on September 28th when the chief executive of the Football Association of Wales (FAW), Noel Mooney, will address the club.
In November the national men’s team will participate in the World Cup in Qatar - after achieving Wales’ first qualification for the tournament since 1958.
Irishman Mr Mooney joined the FAW from UEFA last year where he was head of strategic development working with all 55 European federations on their development including strategy, commercial revenues, participation, public affairs, digital transformation and governance.
Mr Mooney hails from Cappamore, Limerick in the Republic of Ireland and is a former League of Ireland goalkeeper playing for Limerick, Cork City and Shamrock Rovers.
Following his playing career, he joined the Football Association of Ireland in 2006 where his role was focussed on domestic football, later having the responsibility of marketing the League of Ireland.
In December the club, which is held at the home of Glamorgan Cricket, Sophia Gardens, will be addressed by the chief executive of the Principality Building Society Julie-Ann Haines.
The Cardiff headquartered mutual is the UK’s sixth biggest building society with 500,000 members. Aberdeen-born Mrs Haines took up role in 2020 having first joined in 2007. Mrs Haines will address the club on December 7th.
Cardiff Breakfast Club also has a new partner in leading legal firm Darwin Gray, while Resource has come on board as a season partner.
