Ivan Syrovy of Slovakia, chief arbiter of the World Blitz championship in Uzbekistan, took a questionable, yet pivotal decision on Friday. He used his discretion to conclude that Russians Daniil Dubov and Ian Nepomniachtchi had brought the game into disrepute with their "pre-arranged" draw in the 11t h round and docked them half a point each.
