A fast food restaurant that opened in Fishponds six months ago will offer free meals to homeless people. Manzanos Peri Peri is a restaurant that specialises in grilled chicken and is located on 17/18 The Straits Parade, Fishponds.
Asam Aziz opened the Bristol branch in December 2022 and has another restaurant in Reading that has been trading for the last six years. The free meals are will be given out every Wednesday from 2-4pm, starting next week on Wednesday, May 10.
There will be a choice of chicken strips or a vegetarian burger with rice or chips. Those receiving the meal will also get a soft drink and can choose a flavour from the ‘spice-o-meter’.

Mr Aziz said his Reading restaurant provides food donations to the local soup kitchen there and has given out free food to homeless people during Christmas. Now he has opened a restaurant in Bristol with his Bristolian business partner Amir Shariff, they would like to extend that hospitality to Bristol.
Mr Aziz said: “We have recently noticed an influx of people coming into our restaurant in Reading asking for free food, and of course, we give it to them. But we haven’t had that many people come in to our Fishponds branch.
“I have noticed there are a lot of homeless people in Easton and the city centre and I just wanted to raise awareness of what we are doing. During these unprecedented times of hardship it’s imperative we help our fellow man.”
