RAIPUR: A Maoist was killed in an encounter with security forces in forests of Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Friday.
Police said that an encounter broke out around 3.30 pm in forests of Muller village in Phulbagdi region when a team of District Reserve Guards from Sukma and Dantewada districts along with CRPF personnel in a joint anti-Naxalite operation. A group of Kerlapal area committee Maoists opened indiscriminate firing upon security personnel and they retaliated the attack. The ambush took place around the Gogunda hills and Maoists took refuge of the hilly terrain and fled the spot. tnn
