RAIPUR: State government employees to go on a pen-down strike from July 25 to 29 to press their demand for an increase in dearness allowance. During a meeting in Raipur Chhattisgarh Officer Employees Federation spokesperson said, an outline of the movement has been decided in the meeting.
This movement will be done in the entire state regarding dearness allowance and freight allowance. Employees will also gather in large numbers in Raipur and raise their voices, rallies will also be taken out.
According to the federation officials, the demand placed before the government was a hike of dearness allowance equivalent to the Central government and housing-freight allowance as per the 7th pay commission.
If the dearness allowance and rent allowance are implemented then every employee will get 5000 more. About five lakh employees working in different departments of the state are to join the strike. All the employees will be on mass leave.
Chhattisgarh Teachers Association has also given its support and will be joining the strike that will take place for four consecutive days. However, no clear instructions have been issued by the Education Department regarding whether the schools will remain closed, but the teachers have said that they will not be going to school.
About 75 employee organisations will be joining the movement, added an official.
