Indian men's team took a giant step toward Chess Olympiad gold on Thursday. But the same cannot be said of the women's team.
Indian men, overnight sole leaders, outclassed Iran - who were second-placed before Thursday's clash - 3.5-0.5 with D Gukesh, Arjun Erigaisi and Vidit Gujrathi taking full points in Budapest, Hungary. But the women were struggling against Poland as R Vaishali lost to Monica Socko on the second board and D Harika was in a highly inferior position against Alina Kashlinskaya on the top board.
