As Cheryl gets set to bow out of the hit London play, her replacement in 2:22 A Ghost Story has been confirmed and it is none other than Jaime Winstone. And Jaime isn't the only famous face in the new cast for the acclaimed show.
A few eyebrows were raised towards the end of last year when it was announced that Girls Aloud star Cheryl was following in the footsteps of Lily Allen and Laura Whitmore by playing Jenny in 2:22, with her sharing the stage with EastEnders favourite Jake Wood, who was called in at the last minute after a cast member fell ill.
Cheryl opened in 2:22 at the Lyric Theatre in central London in January and, after press night at the start of February, Cheryl was showered with largely positive reviews from the critics who took their seats to see her. The Times review applauded Cheryl for making a 'confident debut,' while, reviewing for The Guardian, Arif Akbar writes: "As her own X Factor moment, it is respectable enough for a first go, if blunt-edged: big on volume and sudden, thunderous anger," adding: "Cheryl convincingly plays rattled new mother Jenny."

Cheryl will bow out of her role in 2:22 on April 23, along with her fellow cast members and the identities of the stars who are coming in for its new run have now been revealed. Jaimie, who blew viewers away with her portrayal as late icon Barbara Windsor in BBC's biopic Babs, will join One Tree Hill star Sophia Bush, Jake Wood's EastEnders co-star RIcky Champ and McMafia and Holby City actor Clifford Samuel.
There was huge reaction to the casting news, when it was announced on 2:22's social media channels shortly before Thursday lunchtime. Commenting on her new role, Jaime said:' "I’m so excited to be joining the cast of 2:22, we’ve got such a buzz in the rehearsal room. Excitement, nerves, fear, which is all perfect for this amazing play.
‘I’ve been so excited to work with Matthew, he’s such a good, hands on director. I can’t wait to bring a new energy to Jenny, I’m just throwing myself in the deep end and I can’t wait for everyone to see us perform at the Apollo, to be in the West End and to bring Jenny to life
