Cheryl has reportedly hired security after threats were allegedly left by a stalker at her theatre show.
The former Girls Aloud star-turned actress has been performing in 2:22 A Ghost Story at the Lyric Theatre in London's West End.
The 39-year-old, who is known for hits Fight for This Love and Call My Name, is said to have brought in security to escort her in and out of the show.
It comes after the pop star has had stalkers over the years, with one who bombarded her with "nasty" messages.
She was forced to step up security in 2019 after she received a spree of terrifying notes and said the stalker made her life hell.
The mum of one is believed to now be using her own security team and minders employed by the theatre to keep her safe.
A source told The Sun : “There’s at least one nutter who has been sending some pretty disgusting and disturbing messages.
“She hasn’t been shown them but they’re included with the flowers people leave after performances.
"Cheryl has enough to think about on stage to a packed theatre each night without having to think about that too, but steps have been taken to ramp up security and put her mind at rest."
The Mirror has contacted Cheryl's representative for comment.
Cheryl is said to be closely followed by her security team who monitor her movements through the venue.
She is currently starring as wife Jenny in the thriller play until April 23.
Cheryl is the latest star to take on the role of the terrified mum who fears the house she has bought is haunted.
It was previously played by former Love Island host Laura Whitmore and singer Lily Allen.
It is understood Cheryl is shuttled from London to her Buckinghamshire country mansion where she lives with son Bear, five, whose dad is ex-One Direction star Liam Payne.
Cheryl's performance has been watched by her Girls Aloud bandmates.
Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts watched the former X Factor judge take to the stage.
Yet Nadine Coyle missed out because she was too scared.
She pulled out last minute as she feared the show would be too frightening, leaving an empty seat between Kimberley and Nicola.
Cheryl is reportedly paid £1,000 a show for her part.
